My wife and I are in our early 60's and we will be relocating to Greenville from Asheville. My wife will be working off Woodruff Road in Greenville and we are looking to rent a house in a nice area, not too expensive. We would like any recommendations as to good areas around Greenville where we can rent a house in a good safe neighborhood. We have 2 dogs and would love to have a place with a fenced yard for them.

You might look in the Mauldin area - I'd imagine any homes for rent would be a little less expensive. There are a few 30-40 year old neighborhoods with nice yards, mature trees, etc. It's convenient to Woodruff Rd, but most of it doesn't even touch Woodruff.
I would also look around Taylors, off of Wade Hampton Blvd and E. North Street/Old Spartanburg Road. It's convenient to where your wife will be working but not nearly as expensive as the Woodruff Road corridor itself.
What is your approximate budget? As far as general areas go, Mauldin and Simpsonville are your best bet. If you don't mind a small drive, you can find homes for rent in North Main.
Our budget to rent a house is $1,000.00 a month or less.
