i was out for a walk this evening at 830 or 900 in greer, and a large object flashed across the sky, did you see it, behind the cloud cover it was white and very large, then 1 minute later we heard a sonic boom, did anyone else see it, it was amazing.
I live near Mauldin and I heard something - at the time I thought it was faint thunder - around 9pm. I didn't think anything of it since there's been so much thunder lately, but it was probably the same thing you heard.
So that’s what it was. My wife and I held the bang in Mauldin and didn't know what the source was. I even turned on the police scanner and heard a call go out to investigate a loud noise but the officer reported back that it was just thunder. Thanks for posting, now it all make sense!

agreed. We are also in Mauldin and I looked outside because I thought it might have been thunder and after I did that it didn't look like it would have been thunder just looking at the sky . I was a little puzzled but didn't think any more of it.
yup that was probably it, i was facing the mountains, dang wish is had fallen in my back yard apparently those things are worth a fortune,lol, oh well it was very beautiful, and my friend got to make a wish, hopefully it will come true for her.
