Greenville is in the running for Southern Living's Tastiest Town. Go to www, southern living.com to vote for Greenville. Looks like we are competing with Charleston. You can leave a comment for your favorite restaurant. Good luck Greenville.

I love this quote from the article:

"When it comes to eating and drinking well, it means business. A concentration of international corporations (including BMW and Michelin) means surprising culinary diversity and well-traveled palettes"

"well traveled palettes" ......certainly agree with that.

Although downtown Greenville has come along way in recent years....most of the fanfare restaurants are overhyped/priced and lack real character.

I love Greenville, born and raised here, but in no way does the food choices here compare with Charleston. I will drive to Charleston to have lunch and then drive back home. I am not voting but if I did it would be for Charleston.

Well my son lives in Charleston & as much as I love it there I would say a drive for lunch would be too much for me. It's beautiful to visit as well but I couldn't do that traffic everyday. Folly Beach is my true love for sure!

While Folly is nice, Edisto is heaven. Wish I could start a company there.
Driving down for lunch is not so bad. We leave early, park behind the Mills House, walk the market, eat lunch, maybe go the the aguarium and then start back home.

You have about a 30 minute advantage over me. I'm in Easley & you are closer to Simpsonville. I love Charleston too and my son prefers Sullivan's Island. When I 1st started going to Folly it was desolate. It's definitely more hopping now & just too expensive for two to find a small place. I don't need a house that sleeps 8. I guess I wil watch the effect the alcohol ban has on it.
