Is Hillbrook still considered a safe, desirable neighborhood? Before buying there, I would like to be reasonably sure that it is still a good choice for safety, home values, peace and quiet, and that it isn't just getting by on its reputation from years ago...

Does anyone have first-hand knowledge of Hillbrook? Is there an increase in rentals due to foreclosures, etc.? Any issues to be aware of in the area?

Also, does it have a homeowner's association (and therefore associated rules about what you can and can't do with your property?).

Thanks!

City of Spartanburg, South Carolina | Hillbrook
Hillbrook Pool

Hillbrook is a very nice neighborhood. I drove through it in December. I doubt you would have problems living in Hillbrook.

You have direct access to Hillcrest Shopping Center which has Publix, Stein Mart, Petco and Ruby Tuesday. There are also plenty of dining and service options nearby.

Hillbrook is still much the same as it has been in the past. That is, safe, quiet, and lots of families with children, as well as those without and older couples as well. It's still a desirable east-side neighborhood.
