The vast majority of crime in Greenwood is found in the neighborhoods on the south side of town. Driving through that area, it's pretty easy to understand why. Looking at a crime map for Greenwood would probably scare anyone away. However...

There are many attractive options on the outer edges of town, and I would personally never chose to live in the south side. To me it's comparable to the old mill areas of Greenville -- run-down and poverty stricken, two of the most essential ingredients to crime. That's also where the hospital is, and in my experience, the poorer and more crime-ridden neighborhoods tend to be located near hospitals.

You said you were "on a repo" when you encountered violent crime. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that probably wasn't the safest venture in the first place.

Youre right, the repo business is dangerous, that's why I no longer do anything like that, and it was many years ago now. But it happened. We were robbed at Shoneys last Sept.

Never seen anyone sketchy at Shoney’s. Been there bunches of times. This is rare.

We were discussing the closing of that Shoney's restaurant just last year.

If Greenwood is going to thrive, they have to get rid of the garbage duopoly of Northland and CenturyLink. I lived there for a long time, and it's stuck in the past. They need to encourage tech entrepreneurship, rather than letting all of it go to Greenville - which is what I did.

Must have shut the doors on the 2nd or something. We were in there the 1st.

m still thinking its 2014, duh!! This was in 2013 when we stopped. My father in law died on the 13th, and had been in the hospital at Greenwood a couple of weeks before.

When people in Greenville complain about Charter, I give a little sigh and think ... Try Northlands or Centurylink sometime and you'll run back to Charter with open arms. I never thought I could actually miss a cable company until moving to the Greenwood area.
