The former Sunoco, 2401 Reidville Road, Spartanburg, South Carolina 29301-3653, and Stonehedge Plaza have been razed.

QuikTrip has a loyal following (I include myself) and their stores seem to revitalize an area. This particular location isn't necessarily depressed but could use a c-store / gas station like a QT.

The Reidville Road trade area has not been price friendly to fuel up. I hope QuikTrip #1126 will cause fuel prices in the trade area to be lower and competitive.

QuikTrip #1126 is open for business. I hope prices in the Reidville Road trade area will be lower and competitor now.

I was a fan of QT when visiting Georgia for years before they entered the Carolinas. Very pleased to see them expand here. My other favorite c-store is the Wawa, but their nearest stores are in Virginia, and they have skipped over the Carolinas and Georgia and expanded down into Florida. Apparently QT and Wawa may share some corporate boards, but remain separate entities. And they apparently avoid overlapping each others territory.

And just today the Charlotte Observer reported that Circle K is planning a big expansion. They also operate Kangaroo stores in the Upstate and may be rebranding all stores under the Circle K banner. But they may need to step up their game to compete with QT standards, as does 7-11 as well. But glad to see 7-11 return.

And I wonder if QT will expand into Hendersonville or Asheville? Most of their NC stores are in the Charlotte region, but with Asheville and Hendersonville bordering Greenville-Spartanburg, it would seem a logical move.

Circle K acquired The Pantry, which has also operated under Depot, Kangaroo, and Golden Gallon. Several Kangaroo stores have converted to Circle K or have closed.
