We're thinking about moving to Greenville area pretty soon and I wanted an update on the crime going on in the area. I read the threads in this forum but most of them are from 5-10 years ago. Is there still a lot of drugs related crime, burglaries, guns robberies and other bad things. We'll appreciate your opinion and thanks for your help.
Crime data is skewed. Greenville has a small city limits. More people live outside Greenville with a Greenville address than people that live in the actual city. Your best bet is to zero in on areas where you'd likely move, then gather neighborhood data from there. And don't just rely on online maps and bias opinions. Overall Greenville is a safe place to live.
I've been here for just over four years. Honestly, I haven't seen any crime or have been a victim to any crime. I feel very safe and I live in Taylors. Most of the crime here happens in pockets like mentioned.
We're currently renting in the Thornblade/Pelham Road area toward Greer/Riverside area. Feels extremely safe; lovely neighborhoods. Just anecdotal, of course, but I'm very keen on danger.

Where in the Greenville area are you considering to locate?
I live in the Verdae area and the only crime I have seen around here is car break-ins. Most of those were actually not even break-ins; people left their cars unlocked.
