Hi All,
I'm still exploring Greenville online as I gather the info we need for our family to consider a job opportunity in the area (we're exploring in person this weekend). Do any of you have experience with a great Christian school and do you have any tips on how to reduce tuition? Example, I saw a $10k special needs scholarship available on one school's website. It seemed like it was being given by the state, but we don't qualify for anything like that. Alternatively, my boys (10 yrs old) are currently in a gifted class. Is there a public school with a great gifted program we should consider when looking for a home? Thanks in advance!
Bob Jones is the best prices Christian school coming in at around $5K per year. I am also looking at Shannon Forest and maybe Southside Christian- but their tuition is around $10K
I think Southside has a deal where pastor and or church staff get reduced or maybe free tuition to the school. I heard this but don't have 100% certainty on it. Might be worth asking if you or your spouse are on a church staff or can be somehow.
My kids go to GVL county schools and just got baptized and are just as Christian as the Christian school kids. I don't see the need to send them to a school for just Christians but that's okay if you feel lead to do that. Nothing wrong with it, but it is expensive.
I learned that each student in Greenville County is getting anywhere from $5000-$7500 of schooling for no additional expense due to taxes paying the public schools. You can find the data on the Greenville County School website with each school.
Look for "dollars spent per pupil" on sheet 4 of this one as an example ($7,018):
Its not so much that the kids are different but the public schools have become intolerant to Christian principles. In addition, they teach make believe science that destroys the mindsets of humans.
Ultimately my daughter will be exposed to the sick world in which we live but at least for now I want her to know truth on the important things she will ever learn.

The world is older than 6,000 years. Fortunately, that is taught in public schools.
The public schools also teach that boys can become girls and vise versa. They also teach that human existence is a result of an accident. I pity the poor kids who are taught that they are here as a result of an accident instead of by God's creation.

And I pity those kids at Bob Jones that are taught Catholics aren't Christians.
