I know there was a recent thread regarding this, but I'd like to start this thread anew.

The roads around Greenville and the surround areas are littered with horrible pot holes. There was a story recently about them on one of the news channels saying that if the SCDOT has a report already on file and you hit the same pot hole that's already been reported, they would pay for the repair.

There are TONS of pot holes along 290/Locust Hill Rd, from Wade Hampton all the way up to US25. I travel that road at least once a week, each way and it's only getting worse. I reported the entire road, but specifically in one area. I forgot to get the case number once I submitted the report.

If you are hitting pot holes, please report them. Not all the roads are covered by SCDOT, so you will have to see if the drop down menu of addresses are on there. Once reported, please post the info here. Too easy for SCDOT to say you were the first person to report a pot hole without knowing if you have, or not. I wish they had some type of system that would show if a pot hole had previously been reported in a specific intersection/location, but I guess with having so any of them, that would be hard.

Here is the link to report the pot holes:

Maintenance Work Request

There is no doubt that, given a little more time, my car will suffer some type of damage if these don't get fixed. And, if my car suffers, I can guarantee, others will too.

We have a pot hole near my home that's grown huge over the last year. Greenville County says it's Greer's problem, Greer says it's Greenville's. So, it continues to get bigger (about 6ft across) and nothing is being done about it. There's one starting near it. Just a matter of time til the 2 shall meet.

So far, not the ones I reported, but they would need to go in both directions along Locust Hill Rd, and it would take a few days for them to do them all.

How specific were you in their location??

Mine were specific, concentrating on the ones big enough to swallow a tire. My given location was within 50 feet by specifying the nearest store/building address or cross street.

I suspect they were overwhelmed by the accumulated damages from the last freeze thaw cycles combined with holidays and they were inundated with reports.

Thanks for posting. Can you tell where they are? This way, if someone else hits them and they know there's a report submitted, the SCDOT can't say they are the first to report it.

If anyone lives along Locust Hill Rd, PLEASE post the areas that you know there are pot holes to SCDOT!! Maybe if they get enough reports they'll fix them all in one shot.

No problem with identifying Hammett Rd, located off old Spartanburg or Brushy Creek. I'd tend to think the "squeaky wheel" effect might be a plus for getting some needed attention. The more times it gets reported, the more pressing it will become.

I was driving on 123 (right at the split/93) and hit a massive pot hole and it caused damage to the front of my car. I made an appointment to get it repaired with my mechanic and called the city of Easley (not sure who to call) but left messages to 2 officials and neither one called me back. I went to the site (next day) and they had filled the pot hole! Nice! Too late for me though.

Now I know that we are supposed to call the DOT. Live and learn, I guess.

I submitted one Friday for a huge hole on the 4000 block of Woodruff Rd near the small white church. They filled it yesterday afternoon.
