CNBC has ranked Greenville as the 6th best place in the country to retire. Greenville is in such excellent company as Portland, OR and Honolulu.

Quite an honor for the area.

That's not good to have lots of tax consumers and few tax payers.

Retirees are property tax and sales tax payers, and income taxes don't go to Greenville county or city anyway.

That picture is a bit misleading if you're not familiar with Greenville. It looks like a ship sank in the Reedy River!

True. In addition, a good chunk of the retirees are affluent, so the added spending at retailers, restaurants, etc is nothing but a plus.
