My husband is in his 50's but his hair is still very dark. We both look younger than we are and want to keep it that way.

When he has gone to get his hair cut, the stylist is supposed to let him know when it's time to start dying his hair.

Who has done this? How often?

He does get his hair cut about every 6-8 weeks so is this the time frame?

I know men look better with some gray (distinguished) but I've seen the future (his dad) and I'm not exactly thrilled with gray.

Opinions? Who has tried it?

My husband did it for a while. Stopped because he got tired of having it done so often, about every month.

Then we discovered Sally Beauty Supply carries a mousse rinse--I think it's Fanciful brand--and that works just great if there's not a lot of grey. It washes out. He has more grey now but still uses it.

Smile How often?

Then, how often does he use it? I did not want my husband feeling he had to do it but I think he wants to when it is time.

His dad has the ugliest grey hair so like I said, he's seen the future.

My husband usually gets his hair cut about every 6 to 8 weeks, I think and when it's short, it looks so much better.

It's a mousse that washes out, so he puts it in every day. Just a rinse, really, not a "dye".

LOL, the first time he went to a salon and had his hair dyed it looked so natural that it was three days before I figured out what was different about him. He'd have kept it up but for having to have it done every time he got a haircut (4 to 6 weeks). His grey was very apparent right after a hair cut but then he wears his hair short on the sides and in the back.

Nice thing about the mousse is if you don't like it, just wash it out.

Benefit of a salon color is that it will look very natural. Well, so does the mousse but, as I said, it's a daily thing.

Smile Good info

Knowing my husband, he might be better with the salon guy but I will pass it on.

I have highlights done and it was funny, just a few days ago, my husband said - you're having the highlights done soon, right?

It surprised me b/c normally he's never even noticed!!

(very natural looking)
