ok so my 15 year old decided to dye her hair at a friends she has light brown hair and wanted a chestnut so she went out and bought box stuff and did it with her friends help well needless to say its almost a purple at the top of the head and scalp area she hates it,we washed and washed with the cheapest shampoo and even tried a strong dandruff shampoo alot just kept coming out. I talked to someone and they said to go to a salon and they would use a toner. does this sound correct?

If it was permanent dye you can buy a dye remover at Sally's Beauty supply.

The best one is by "One N Only" and it's called Colorfix. It comes in a yellow box and the girls at Sallys will probably recommend it as well. It's barely damaging and washes all permanent dyes out of hair. It's about $10.

I always though color oups was the bad one. A lot of the people that give bad reviews have done crazy thing to their hair like dye it black and bleach it in the same month.

If all your daughter did was apply one dye to her natural hair than I'm pretty sure you will have good results.

I have dyed brown hair with blonde highlights and when I was doing my roots light ash brown, it colored some of my highlights as well and they looked grey. On application of colorfix stripped the brown dye.

You can always take her to the salon but it will be expensive and they may even attempt to bleach it out which would be very damaging. A good salon wouldn't do this though.

well went and got the One and Only Color Corrector from Sally's and was a little nervous since they told me that it would probably have to be dyed right after again, but the final outcome was great did not have to re-dye,it took out all the purple and restored her hair to a beautiful almost chestnut brown with streaks of highlighted blonde. really really nice, she was so happy. so no more dye for her. Yes it smelled but no worse than a home perm,i washed it first with a dandruff shampoo then regular shampoo and conditioner and put in leave in conditioner, wow her hair looks amazing. so thank you for the recommendation.
