Well I used a dark neutral brown from that line and it never really fully washed out.
Options to pull color out:
- wash - as already mentioned if you hair is not dry. I like anything clarifying. It really rips out color.
- deep conditioning treatments - if you hair is dry. Sometimes it can make the hair limper but that washes out when you stop doing them so much
- color oops - product to pull out all color.
When I wash it with my regular shampoo (Paul Mitchell Shampoo One), I can see a little bit of color coming out, but not much. I'm going to WalMart later, so I'll get some Prell.
My hair color was very light brown with blonde highlights, professionally done. I had to give my hairdresser up until I get another job, and I had four inches of gray roots showing. So until them, I'll make mistakes. If the Prell works, I'll get a blonde color to use, and choose more carefully, the next time.
The color really never does wash out. It fades, but it never really goes away.
I always choose a color two or three shades lighter than my natural color (the natural brown, not the natural grey, LOL). It won't change the color of the brown hair at all, and turns the grey into light brown highlights.
So I guess when it fades, I should use a light blonde on it to go over the brown to make it lighter. Or maybe after the first of the year, I'll be able to pay my hairdresser a visit again (tax return!)
Yes, I would color it lighter after it fades a bit,,and heavy on the conditioner,(and they do make Prell still.)
I would just get a heavy cleansing shampoo if you cant find it.
I found some at Target a while ago when I was trying to lighten a dark job.
Head and Shoulders or Dawn Dish Soap also removed excess colour. If you wash your hair daily, you should expect to see significant color loss over the next 2-3 weeks. That tpe of hair dye is only expected to last 6 weeks in optimal conditions.
