Hello. What are the best sports bars in the Norfolk / Va Beach area? I've only been here a few months and I am a huge football fan. I live out near East Beach, and am looking for something within 10-12 miles.

I'm looking for a place with the NFL Ticket (of course), that isn't a dive or too smokey, and is safe enough for a female to go to alone.

I've tried Baxter's once with a group of friends and liked it - but parking is a pain.

Yep, we go to AJ Gators as well. They have great nachos and other items to snack on.

Which AJ Gator's do you guys go to... I looked at their website and saw that there were 6 in Norfolk and VA Beach. Are they all equally good, or do you prefer one location over the other?

BWW seems to be a pretty decent chain. Some of the folks here said they'll never go back to Hooters to watch football. I'm not sure I agree, but BWW has much better food and I like playing the free poker while watching the games.

Buffalo Wild Wings

On the peninsula, Bailey's is also a decent place right at the PH mall in Newport News.

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings a few weeks ago to watch the Ravens game. (yes, we were the ONLY ones watching the Ravens, lol, but I digress...)

It was so much fun! If you go, GET THERE VERY EARLY. The wait time is LONG b/c it's very crowded. They do not take reservations. It's also not smokey at all.

The coolest thing was that you see pretty much every NFL team's jersey there. It's VERY LOUD, though.

They also give a military discount of 15% on Sundays.

Malibu Mac's had the Ticket last year, but had trouble with Direct TV (or Dish Network or whomever carriest the Ticket) this year and decided not to get it after all this year.

PS: We'd love to find other Ravens fans in VA Beach.

I would love to watch some games with you guys but I work every Sunday till 4pm. So if it's the later game I'd be able to catch it. 2-2, this week will be a test of what kind of team we will be this year.
