So I'm moving down to Harrisburg this coming weekend -- special thanks to DowntownHarrisburg for pointing me in the direction of a great apartment!

Will there be any neat festivals or other events during the Labor Day weekend?

Kipona! 2011 Kipona ArtFest, September 3rd-September 5th

Would you believe, I've lived in the area near all of my life, I live downtown now, and I have never been to a Kipona. It's a pretty big deal. Perhaps this year should be my first.

Edited to add a few links that I just found in my RSS feed:

Other goings on for the weekend are listed in SaraBozich.com's Weekend Roundup (http://www.sarabozich.com/2011/09/weekend-roundup-91.html - broken link). She also lists other area events coming up in the month of September (http://www.sarabozich.com/2011/09/september-2011-preview.html - broken link). I just marked my calendar for a few of these goings-ons!

Glad to help! Kipona is definitely worth checking out. It's one of several large annual festivals along the river.

You might also want to check out Third in the Burg. This month that falls on the 16th. It's mostly centered around the arts, but a number of local bars & restaurants will run specials that day as well.

Welcome to downtown!

Thanks to both of you! Kipona sounds like a fun festival and will be within walking distance for us. I've heard about Third in the Burg and can't wait to check it out

Another question -- is there a good sushi restaurant anywhere downtown?
