For those considering a hip replacement, this is a good bit of info from an ortho surgeon in Louisana. I did not read it before Anterior and wish I had. I went with Anterior which is the latest type replacement and I'm living with too many side effects/complications.

I also had the anterior replacement on both sides. The left side is a dream come true. Absolutely awesome. But the right side continues to have alot of pain, especially trying to get into a car and lifting the leg. I have to grab hold of the pant leg to facilitate the move. No answers for this from the doctor. Just doesn't know why. Two years old in March.

I quit contact with the MD and his PA...I talked to the PA a lot on line and never got straight answers, it was always give it time blah blah blah. I did a yelp review on my outcome though and there are about 10 of us with negative reviews on this surgeon, about 20 or so with good results.

PA never admitted to the nerve damage issue and I found that out from others on hip support groups.
