Vaginal Gel Cuts HIV Spread: AIDS Researchers - ABC News
Interesting read. I don't necessarily agree with such a gel concept, but I understand the need for it. However this article says one thing that bothers me.

The hell?
Can someone help me understand why a woman would not have the "social power" to insist on condom usage? It's their body, isn't it?
And before someone comes with the "could get raped" argument, I would submit that if a woman is being raped, an STD is the least of their problems.
A lot of women tout independence and strength of will. So should we not expect that a woman in a relationship, committed or not, who
chooses to have sexual relations, should by default have the authority to demand that the guy wrap it up?
