I have a swollen lymph node towards the back of my neck that stays swollen and has been for over a year. My doctor says I should get a CT scan of it just to be safe. However, I'm reading other things that say CT scan often misses certain things with lymph nodes and that I should even bypass fine needle aspiration for a biopsy. Does anyone have experience in this area and what the best steps are?

In my opinion get it tested as soon as possible.I had a swollen one at the base of my neck and it turned out to be stage 4 Melonima ,it was removed and later others showed up under my left arm and 15 were removed .I was treated after all that and 12 years later I am still here.I don't mean to alarm you but please get other opinions its nothing to fool around with.the original primary site was never found on my skin and i see a Derm Dr once a year.
