J&J Recalling More Over-The-Counter Drugs - FoxBusiness.com

Quote:
Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) announced a wholesale recall for millions of units of its over-the-counter medications on Friday.

The consumer-products firm issued a voluntary recall on a wholesale level for several popular over-the-counter medications, including Tylenol products, as well as Benadryl and Sudafed products distributed in the U.S., the Caribbean and Brazil. The company said the recall was a “precautionary measure” after a review of post-production records turned up insufficient cleaning procedures or inadequately documented cleaning, according to a release.

J&J also recalled certain packages of Rolaids antacid medicine distributed in the U.S. for the absence of the language “Does not meet USP,” meaning the medications were not tested by U.S. Pharmacopeia.

So much for Tylenol. I stick with Ibuprofen. Only exception to this rule is I was prescribed Vicodin with Tylenol. I guess they do that to prevent abuse, which abusers most likely don't know as in too much Tylenol is very toxic to one's liver. One has to wonder why this was done. Vicodin is available with Ibuprofen, more expensive, but less hard on the liver.

I knew of someone on the Internet who had stage four liver disease due to abuse of Tylenol. I've also read it's high up there on the list of liver failure in terms of deaths, but don't recall exactly what I read other than this factoid. I think I may take 2 or 3 pills of it a year. I guess some do take Tylenol PM to sleep but I'll stick with the real stuff (as in prescriptions).
