need advice on family care (pain, how to, broke, cause)

member of family recently had accident--broke a lumbar vertebrae--is on meds and given a brace and orders to avoid steps--is staying with me----is minimally med compliant,refuses to use brace,goes up and down stairs 2 to 3x a day and then becomes furious with me cause at nite pain becomes unbearable and i am not able to fix her bed to her satisfaction--keeping us both up all nite---am open to all suggestions on how to handle this--am getting worn out

I assuming this is a grown adult and sadly you can't force another adult to do something they dont' want to do. So, give her two choices...1) follow the dr's orders 2) find someone else to take care of them. Put the ball in her court and let her decide how she wants this ordeal to end.
