Pain in fingers down to palms now, overnight . (constant pain, doctor, nerve)

I have no idea what is going in but yesterday I started having pain in my fingertip of my pointer finger on left hand. Just the tip like it was just overly sensitive. Through the day it started going down my finger more and through the night my right hand joined in. It's not a constant pain but more if I hit my fingers on the counter or tap them on the table it's kind if an electric type feeling or maybe like a sparkler in my fingers. Now I can feel it down towards my palms.. I have a "fibro-ish" type syndrome but I've never had this happen before. Someone told me it could be sudden onset of carpal tunnel but I mean over night, in both hands? I think that May be highly unlikely. I can't think of what this could be. I was tested for ALS earlier this year and that was neg but I'm starting to get scared by this sun den onset the test was not right.. I dunno why I keep thinking back to it. Anywho any ideas or someone experience this. I'm sure I may need to give my neuro a call

Possibly a pinched nerve. I've had similiar happen before and all it was was a pinched nerve at the wrist area. But you should always get a real doctors opinion anyway just in case it's somethine else more serious.
