Hi yesterday I was walking really fast and I banged my leg(area below my knee) really hard into a chair and there isn't any bruising, but I can feel a big bone sticking out there now and some skin ripped off a little. I have a hard time walking and even going up and down stairs. Will that bone go back down? I'm surprised I didn't get a bruise because I'm always banging my body into things because I'm always moving around so fast and I have bruises all over my other leg.

There are these people called Doctors, and they have these new fangled machines, I think they are called xray machines, that can actually take pictures of your bones! Its the darndest thing, you might want to look into it.

If you can afford an xray and doctor bills I'd go get it taken care of. Now I have never seen a broken bone but the fact that you said it's "sticking out" leads me to think you need to go.

I don't think it's broken and its not like you can see it sticking out. It's just when I push on it I can feel it sticking out.

Please go to an urgent care or ER. Does the bone have to stick out for you to believe that it is broken or fractured? Either way, this isn't a cold or some allergies. This is something that you cannot treat yourself and need the assistance of a doctor for. Please go and see a doctor. I hope it isn't serious, but there is no sense in waiting until it is serious to finally decide on doing what you should have all along. It is just common sense...it is not normal to feel something like that. Please let us know how things go after you see a doctor. I hope it isn't too serious.

If you can push on it without doubling over in agony, it probably isn't broken - just swollen. Of course it -might- be broken, or chipped, or have a tiny little fracture in it. Without going to a doctor, the only way you'll know for sure is if you wait long enough. It'll either heal, or you'll end up disfigured and spend the rest of your life in pain. Either way, you'll get the answer.

Yeah I think it's swollen. I'm just wondering why there isn't a bruise.

*shrug* Could be any number of reasons why you wouldn't have a bruise. Did you put ice on it right away?

If you are in pain to the point where it is hard to walk you need to go see a doctor and get your leg x-rayed. You don't want to risk infection or further damage to your leg by not getting it treated.
