I have always suffered from constipation problems and as I got older my doctor told me to drink water, eat more fiber, etc. Lately these have been my poop times and I wonder if it is good or bad.

Is this average for someone that deals with constipation problems or is everyone different? I have been farting a bit here and there but no poop. If I do go poop is very little.
Anyone else suffer similar to what I am dealing with?
As someone who goes everyday nearly without fail, and often twice a day or more, your frequency really doesn't look healthy. I've heard at a minimum you should be going once every two days, at the very least. You should drink at least 8 cups of water a day. As far as foods, how about yogurt and more fruits and vegetables. I can't imagine under any circumstances where not going for 6 or 7 days is okay.

Absolutely! ^^^ OP, that is not healthy. Healthy bowels move every day, sometimes more than once!
Drink plenty of water
Eat soluble fiber, vegetables, fruits
Eat yogurt and fermented foods
GET EXERCISE (very important!)
Lastly, you might try taking digestive enzymes before meals, and probiotics.
I agree also about taking magnesium and vitamin C.
ok, here is the advise or comments we have gotten from both our primary care doctor and our own granddaughter, who is a nurse practitioner: professionals do not really consider constipation a problem unless you go more than 5 days without a BM> secondly as we get older our habits do change. For example, I normally go every morning, early. In fact that is usually what wakes me up. On occassion (about once a week) I will not go for a couple of days. Then when I do go, I might go 3 or 4 times in a day, but it is normal, not loose or hard. Thus the doctor isn't concerned at all. Yes, drinking a lot of liquids, especially water and walking are 2 of the best things to keep us regular. Also eating a lot of fiber and believe it or not, fat can help, but the side effects may not be the best. I know for me, water and cantalope are the two things that help me the most. Also a small handul of nuts just before bedtime helps. this is me, everyone is different. High roughage foods like too many leafy vegetables (which I eat a lot of) will give me gas.
I usually drink about 1-2 water bottles a day is that enough? We just bought yogurt.
Are you talking about those 16.9 oz bottles? So you're only drinking 16.9-33.8 ounces of water a day? That's way too little. I don't know how you're even able to function with that little water intake. You should be drinking at least 8 cups (8 ounces/cup, 64 ounces total) of water a day. I usually drink 3 bottles at work and then when I come home drink the equivalent of another 2 bottles for 5 bottles total a day.
But isn't taking those medicinces and forcing the poop out bad? Shouldn't you going poop be natural not forceful?
