I Bit my Tongue and it Hurts (pain, bleeding, dentist)

I was eating some baby carrots and celery with ranch and in the course of this meal I bit my tongue in the same place three times. Ouch!!! It bled for over 30 minutes and now it is all swollen and sore. I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight with this throbbing. Maybe some Aleve or Tylenol?

Yes, the good thing is, is that it will heal pretty quick. I bit mine so hard at work the other month that my eyes watered and I was bleeding bad for quite some time. You'll be fine just give it a bit of time!

It will heal just fine. Try keeping some cool water in your mouth for a while. Then, just let your tongue relax...don't keep moving it and scraping it on your teeth to see if it still hurts! By morning, it will feel much better!

Anbesol teething pain treatment for babies. Great for this reason!

i really hate when that happens. rather often when i do that, i bite the same area again. a few weeks ago, i injured my arm. when i was eating and holding my fork in that other hand, i managed to poke the end of my tongue with one of the tines. it hurt for days.

edit: i have to add, i've been typing with one hand for a few weeks; the left hand. a few days in, i cut the tip of that index finger.

Ha ha ha, sorry you were hurt, but you sound like me. I have actually chipped my tooth with my fork. I had to go get it filed down at the dentist and it still feels wrong.
