I had a bad cold turned into bronchitis started about 3 weeks ago coughing, sore throat fever 102-104, and Diarrhea after a week I went to the doctor they gave me Prednisone 40Mg a day for 5 days, 7 day zpak antibiotics, and some lidocaine throat rinse for my sore throat best thing I have ever gotten for a sore throat. That seemed to clear up everything except for the Diarrhea I take imodium it works but as soon as I stop taking it comes right back. I thought it might be the medication but I have been done with all that for over 7 days now. I tried some probiotic pills doesn't seem to do much.

Diarrhea.. . .
I'm sure you know which foods give you problems. With that in mind, avoid them. Avoid greasy foods. Spicy foods. Steamed rice is good, plain chicken (not fried), applesauce and carrots. I'm sure there's lists out there on what you can and can't eat.

You should take some Pedialyte that'll help replace lost nutrients. Give your system time to recover. It could also be the antibiotics caused the problem - Look at side effects on everything you take.

It's not a food issue the problem started up with this bronchitis.

Pepto Bismol tablets. Thats what my gastro doc told me to take when I have non stop bouts of diarrhea. It soothes the intestines. You might have a virus in there. Google it.

The antibiotics wiped out good bacteria along with the bad. More pro-biotics will probably help. It takes time to get all the gut bacteria back in balance.

Not wanting to practice medicine here (although I am a non-practicing PA) but it does not sound like the OP has C. Difficile. My mother had that years ago and she was deathly ill.

I would follow the advice here- although you have been off the meds for a week it may take longer than that for your gut flora to recover. And do keep drinking fluids. Give it a few days before you go back to the doctor.

I was going to say, try eating more cheese. It works. Yes it contains fat but it does seem to slow things waaay down.
