Hopefully the title of this thread alone will get a few people to respond.

This is a bit embarrassing but about 3 or 4 weeks ago, I discovered, what I hope to be, an insect bite on the shaft of my penis. I say "hope" because it doesn't seem to be going away. I have tried using bacitracin on it but it doesn't seem to be helping. I wouldn't say it's getting worse but it isn't healing, either. It doesn't itch or hurt but I am worried that it could be something else. Let's just say that I am supremely confident that it's not an STD. Like 1000% certain. I am planning on going to a CVS and get some hydrogen peroxide and some neosporin and see if they will help. If not, I will make an appointment to see my dermatologist. Any ideas on what it might be or remedies I can try? My penis thanks you!

You can get pimples there, or even ingrown hairs.

This was my first thought, but that should be somewhat painful.

@Hedghehog_Mom

Hmmmm, an ingrown hair? I never thought about that. It is quite possible. Is there any medication that will get rid of it?

Stop messing with it. If it doesn't go away by itself within another week or 10 days, or if it gets worse, go see a doctor.

I am going to try some benzoyl peroxide cream and if it doesn't go away within a few days, I will make appointment to see dermatologist.

Try and pop or spear it to see if a follicle or any liquid is caught under the bump.

I think you should reconsider that. It is only for acne, can cause burning, blistering, and peeling, and is meant to be used on intact skin.

You have something that is not healing. You need a diagnosis. See your dermatologist.
