So it started with a head cold which led to bronchitis, today is day 7 of the bronchitis, 5 days prior to that I had a head cold.
Been thru this pretty much every winter.
Taking OTC Mucinex but only at night to calm the coughing/phlegm.
I already take Prednisone 2.5mg per day religiously but here I am with a flare-up. No fever.
What could or would a doc prescribe at this point? I am between jobs but need to pull it together as I am BROKE. Should I be even seeing a doc at this point ?

Yes. Prednisone is a steroid and lowers your immune system. There must be a low cost or free clinic in your area. Make some phone calls to local hospitals, they will tell you where they are.

I would. You don't want to have it get worse and turn into pneumonia, that would be even more expensive. Hope you feel better soon.

1. Possibly antibiotics
2. Yes. As advised above, find a free/low cost clinic.

Yes. I second this^^.

My mother was healthy, on no meds and had no chronic health conditions last fall but suddenly got similar symptoms and finally went to the hospital. It was pneumonia, which quickly led to sepsis, then organ failure. She died at age 69 only 9 days after becoming ill.

Do not mess around.

Zpac or something similar should take care of it. I got it years ago. It never went away on it's own. Finally saw a doctor and that is what he gave me, a week later I was cured.

Bronchitis for 7 days. Should I break down and see a doc?

Yes, absolutely go to a low-cost clinic if you can. If you are in an area that has Publix or Meijer, they also offer free antibiotics, so ask your doctor if they can give you one of the antibiotics that is on the list before trying one that isn’t on the list.
