Hi everyone

This is something that is hard for me to discuss. I think I mentioned this years ago on city-data forums when I struggled to have an erection with a woman I tried to have sex with. During the past few months, I have struggled with erectile dysfunction. Not only does it take me longer to have an erection but I don't even have an urge to masturbate or engage in sexual intercourse anymore. When I see a woman, I don't get an erection like I did before. When I masturbated last week, it probably took me at least a couple minutes to even have an erection. I usually exercise at the gym a few times a week, and I don't drink as much alcohol as I used to . I go to a nearby bar and lounge two or three times a week on most weeks, and I do drink there but I don't go crazy drunk or anything like that because I read on the WebMD app that alcohol is a cause of ED. I also drink some wine because I have been told more than once that it's good for my heart. I eat fruits sometimes, and I take vitamins every morning. The vitamins are adult gummies for Men's vitamins and calcium vitamins, but they are still vitamins. I also take a pill for horny goat weed and a pill for ginseng with the adult gummy vitamins each morning . I also drink lots of water. I drink coffee, but I usually stay away from soda. What can I do to help bring back my sex drive and have better sexual performance? Thank you in advance for your advice. I am deeply concerned about my situation and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you discussed this with your physician? It sounds to me like low testosterone, but you'd have to have a blood sample taken and sent to a lab to find out. If it turns out to be low T, your doc can prescribe testosterone replacement therapy -- usually monthly shots or patches that work similar to nicotine patches.

I had a large pituitary tumor 30 years ago that reduced my testosterone levels. I've gotten a shot, pretty much monthly, ever since. Without it I'll notice lowered sex drive and less energy, possibly some weight gain, although that's harder to say for sure when I'm seldom off of it for more than a few months. Cost is reasonable, under $50/month, and my insurance covers most of that. I used to go to my doctor's office for the injection, but he convinced me to go to our public health nurse because it's cheaper (as in free, as long as I provide the med).

Low T is just a guess, but a frank discussion with you physician would be a good start, regardless of what's causing it.

You don't mention your age, as I believe testosterone levels diminish in all men as the years pass.

Don't plan on any vitamins or other pills to improve it much. If your levels are low, the best bet is probably to go for hormone replacement.

Viagra and other similar drugs can help if it's only erectile dysfunction, but they don't do anything for the diminished urge you mention.

First off the bat, a pde5 drug is one of the only helps for men suffering from erectile dysfunction. Next I would hope you talked to your doctor about the issue! If not bring it up, schedule an appointment and discuss it with your md. It could be a number of things from pornographic addiction to anything else.

You go to the gym.

Are you exercising too hard?

Have you previously taken steroids? If so, have you cut down?

You wouldn't happen to have been wearing something to show off your package?

You could be taking too may vitamins.

This is not something I have thought about a great deal, but I recall two things that you might explore.

1. Smoking. If you are a smoker, it practically guarantees early ED,

2. Coffee is good for you. Or, at least, not bad. The statistically lowest incidence of ED occurs among men who consistently average about two cups of coffee a day. Apparently, by quite an eye-opening margin.

Time to go see a urologist!

BTW, how old are you? Not that it really matters, ED can strike at any age

But till go see a urologist, regardless of age

It can be mental as well, the more you think about it the more difficult it is.

Why doesn't the OP go see a physician or some specialist to be sure? All we can offer is opinions and that's hardly as good as an expert making sure that everything is fine physically and doing the various tests (blood tests, etc.). Then looking at the mental aspect of things.

The OP says he wrote about this issue years ago on this forum, again, if the situation hasn't gotten better, why has he not sought professional help?
