It will continue to fade, but I suspect your expectations are too high.
Some people simply have skin that seems to create scars that don't 'blend in.' I'm one of those, so I sympathize.
Years ago, I received GREAT advice from a surgeon: Wear sunscreen on those scars all the time. I can look at scars on the parts of my body that are never exposed to the sun and see that they look WAY WAY WAY better than the others. I wish I had known that advice decades ago - because once the sun has done its thing, there's no going back.
Silicone scar tape is the best treatment, and Merderma is a scam (ask any plastic surgeon for confirmation). I've had some slight success from hydroquinone (quite cheap on Amazon).
Keep rubbing it with Vitamin E..that often helps scars fade...
