Since yesterday, I have been having these really bad attacks at least every two hours. I have been having extreme shortness of breath, wheezing, trouble talking and walking. My pulmonologist says that I may need to be tested for asthma, but my next appointment isn't until November. He did give me a sample inhaler to use and it does relieve these awful attacks. Now, I am not sure what I should do because I don't think I can wait until November to find out what is going on.
sounds like asthma ! Go the emergency room and the doctor there will prescribe you some albuterol and the oxygen equipment needed to deliver it to you. Don't fool around with asthma ! It can kill you very easily.
Call him and say it worked. Ask him to refer you. Doctors downplay people's complaints. Its keeps the crazies quieter and you just have to know that you must make your voice be heard when you know something is wrong. Personally I would switch to a doctor that doesnt put that off. One bad attack can kill you on the spot. Will that sampler last you till Nov?
Well, I went to the doctor today. He is only prescribing me antibiotics. He isn't going to test me for asthma until November. He mentioned that maybe I am just stressed out and having panic attacks, but I don't feel anxious when these attacks start. I even had one attack while I was watching a comedy on TV. All of sudden I was laughing then I couldn't breathe. I also had one while I was in the shower. He also mentioned that since I am a teacher that maybe I caught something from one of my students. My students haven't been gasping for air or anything like that.
Definitely either demand to be taken immediately by your doctor or get a new one. This is unacceptable.
