Blood donations & mad cow disease (cause)

Does anyone know if the FDA is still banning people who lived in the UK during the 1980s from donating blood due to Mad Cow Disease? I've tried searching the FDA website and I can't find anything useful.

There's nothing on the FDA website because the FDA doesn't have any mandate to oversee blood donations. That's the purview of the CDC and Red Cross. The infomation you're seeking is here: Blood Eligibility Guidelines

At least I know not to go and volunteer my self when I get over there.Would have been a little humiliating.
Not sure how we would manage in the UK if they made that rule!
