CHICAGO — When 4-year-old Eric Stavros Adler choked to death on a piece of hot dog, his anguished mother never dreamed that the popular kids' food could be so dangerous.
Some food makers including Oscar Mayer have warning labels about choking, but not nearly enough, says Joan Stavros Adler, Eric's mom.
Many parents are not aware of the choking hazards of certain foods as they should be.
Anything round is the key.
Grapes is another one that if served to young kids should be cut in half.
Knowing CPR is another thing parents should know how to perform in case of emergencies which would include the heimlich maneuver for choking victims.
Oh I don't think people are unaware of the choking hazards they are just looking for someone else to blame.
This is the country that has made litigation a sport. Taking responsibility for one's own mistakes is apparently too much to ask for. God forbid the lawyers would all be out of jobs.

Very tragic about the deaths over this but what ever happened to common sense? Do we really need the government to cut up our or our children's food for us now?
