"According to the BBC, Lord Fredrick North demanded an apology from the general of the rebel army, George Washington, for the death of two British soldiers killed by rebel forces in retaliation for alleged pillaging of colonial homes in the colony of New Jersey recently.
Lord North also criticized His Royal Highness, George the III, for having apologized to William Franklin governor of the New Jersey colony for the wanton destruction the personal affects of many loyal British subjects of the city of Trenton, New Jersey following a recent house to house search by His Majesty's forces fighting the rebels.
North believed that by apologizing to the Governor Franklin, His Majesty was appeasing the rebels and demonstrating great weakness regarding the resolve of his Majesty's government to put down the barbaric rebellion taking place in his Majesty's overseas possessions."
