I was living in North Carolina then (still in the Army, stationed in Ft. Bragg) and went a popular nightclub that night. Danced all night and celebrated the New Year. That night, that particular club had the most people they ever had (there was almost 130 people in there then!). The dance floor was packed. I remember coming out of there (around 12:30) sweaty and went home to take a shower and sleep. I remember, I was wearing a really cute, pretty black dress with yellow and pink flowers on it and black high heels.

Then the morning of the 1st, I went out to Denny's for breakfast.

Where were you and what were you doing on 12-31-99 to 1-1-2000?

On the 31.12.99 I was in Oban, on the West Coast of Scotland, we went to a posh restaurant, had a wonderful meal and then participated in the torch-lit procession down the hill then listened to all the ships in the Bay tooting their fog-horns to ring in the New year, overlooking the Beautiful Bay and had half a glass of Champagne ( neither of us usually drinks) and gave the rest of the bottle to a couple next to us. They seemed quite pleased !

We then linked arms with them and sang "Auld Lang Syne" with them as tradition dictates.

No partying all night for us though as we were both feeling quite ill ! I had the worst cold I had ever had in my life probably and could barely speak because of a bad tonsillitis but it was still quite a memorable evening for us.

We went downtown for New Year's Eve to watch the fireworks from the top of one of my then-employer's apartment buildings. It was a wicked cold night, and the winds were whipping up pretty good there on the top of that 12-story building, but it was fun anyway. We took along a thermos of hot chocolate, bundled up in coats, hats and scarves, and kept ourselves warm by hopping in place while we watched the splashes of color light up the midnight skies.

December 31, 1999 I was with a large group of friends from high school at a very, very nice bay house in Pirates Beach (Galveston, TX). Raunchy, debaucherous evening. It could have been a scene from Pompeii.

I stayed up until 10:30 local time, to watch the coverage from Newfoundland, to see if I saw anybody I knew (I didn't), and then went to bed and slept until the next millennium. Got up the next morning to see if the computers had all crashed and taken the infrastructure down with them. They didn't, which was kind of a letdown.

I was unemployed at the time. If the Y2K people had been right and something like an apocalypse was going to occur, I don't think I would've cared.

I was on Oak Island, NC, in a condo with my then fiance. At midnight we walked onto the beach and made our pre-marriage vows.

I was working. Every law enforcement officer in the state was on call or working by a Governors order due to that stupid Y2K thing. It was a very busy night. Finally got off duty at 4am, went home, had a drink with my gf at the time, and fell asleep. Woke up at noon January 1, 2000, and noticed nothing had changed.

I was at work with the rest of management. Federal agency. We were there to make sure that any computer problems could be nipped in the bud. Nothing happened. rofl
