We didn't have to "defeat" Grenada -- or anyone else; just demonstrate that we were through sitting in the corner and sucking our thumb. The Cold War was won on an economic battlefield, BTW

But I have in-laws who were raised in a lower-level European diplomatic culture -- when the Left was in power, that is. Most of them see things a little differently now -- and we all get along pretty well.

The economic reasons were not entirely responsible.
Religious and cultural reasons were right up there.

In reference to the OP's question, I find it very strange because the opposite is true.
It's actually very difficult to find an American who says Vietnam was a success and/or "worth it".

Don't most Americans admit Vietnam was a failure? It can be argued that most of America's foreign policy in the 20th century was a failure.

At best you can find the new arguments that America left in 1972 accomplishing their original war aims but gave away their strategic stalemate and lost when we refused to honor our Paris accords treaty commitments when the North renewed their offensive in 1975

You might want to include the exploits of the tribe in power during the last 7 years. And lest we not forget "W" to spread this around politically!

It's not clear how this demonstrates that we lost in Korea. We contained the communists north of the DMZ and then we pulled out. We didn't lose.

Roses by any other name still smell the same. It seems to me that N. Korea is building missiles and atomic bombs and is also befriended by Communist China.
Eh, they might take out one of our cities if we don't shoot the missile down with a laser or simply destroy the launch facility before they are able to launch it, but then we would destroy them. We wouldn't even need to respond with nuclear warheads. Personally I doubt their missile would work properly, and expect their warhead would detonate in the ocean. It took us decades of testing to perfect the ICBM. They can't do much of that because of the sanctions. The main concern with their nukes is the possibility of them getting to Al Qaeda or other terrorist groups.

The real problem with North Korea going to war is all the people who would die in south Korea.

ok then we won the Korean War. Korea is contained.

Dont know where the OP comes from with that attitude. Anyway, lumping together Iraq, Afghanistan and WW2 is childish to say the least.
Regarding the Soviet Union - they fought Germany from the east and although their battle was exclusively on land (no great sea battles) they sacrificed most human lives. But these wars were so different in nature, that cannot be compared.
In Korea the war ended before the north was defeated, against Douglas MacArthur's advice. If they followed his advice, North Korea wouldn't have been a nuclear country led by a crazy kid.

Sure America did admit Vietnam was a failure at the end of their involvement and many years America had its tail between its legs when new threats came , as like Jimmy Carters , and Clinton's blunders in threats of conflicts ...... See Richard Nixon campaigned that He would pull out of the war if elected and so he did , as the war was not over as North Vietnam took over South Vietnam after America was out ........ See even the vets who came back from the war never had a victory march with flag waving pride and most were rejected and ridiculed
