Another one of those amazing lives. 1,000,000 died there; 200 escaped.

Thanks for posting this, it was a very well written article. I have studied the Holocaust for several years, being drawn to it initially out of curiosity as to how one race could treat another so cruelly.

One of the best first hand accounts of Auschwitz was written by a doctor named Miklos Nyiszli, who was forced to perform autopsies for Mengele, aka the angel of death. If you haven’t read this book, “A Doctors Eyewitness Account”, I highly recommend it to you. Although very graphic, it tells the complete story of the barbaric treatment that millions endured at the hands of the Nazis.

He lived to a ripe old age. A miracle, really.

That's so interesting, that the Nazi authorities overlooked a loft in the barn he and his friend were staying in. What are the chances of that happening?

Truly a miracle. And you'd better believe he had a wonderful life in the San Francisco Bay Area's ideal climate. After what he'd been through, and after being born and raised in Poland, it must have seemed heavenly.
