The Siberians lived and still live in tepees. They are nomadic. They wear brightly-colored wardrobes. They dance like the pow wows of Indians in America. They're languages are comprised of short words and sound just like American Indians. The music is the same. The drums they beat are the same. They smoke peace pipes. It's all the same folks. The "alleged" Native Americans are simply Asians. So...put your scholarly anthropology nonsense in the trash. I always refer to Indians as Asians or Siberians. Because that's what they are. And you're not "native." In fact...no one on the earth is "native." The word "native" is actually an oxymoron in and of itself because to assume anything is "native" is to assert that you have found the origin of absolutely everything in the universe and other universes. So...suck on a big hot dog all of you fools.
The term "Native American" is a rebranding of the American Indian intended to make the east Indians now immigrating here more comfortable. It's no longer convenient for the establishment to call American Indians "Indians"; indeed it's downright unprofitable to do so as corporate America sees the east Indians as being more economically important than American ones.
So once again the Indian is shouldered aside to better suit the interests of others.
It appears that many of you have made up your minds already. It even seems that couple of you have been rather smug about it. In truth, there isn't a universal answer to this question, any more than there is a universal American Indian culture or language.
As examples, and in contrast to what has been alleged here, only a few American Indian nations ever lived in teepees, and only a handful of nations were nomadic. At least seven American Indian nations never held pow-wows, and there are significant differences in the way the various nations dress and dance. There are over 300 American Indian languages, and most of them are quite different. The Choctaw word for the aquatic bird known in English as a loon (4 letters) is okchalami chieto (15 letters). "Short words and sounds", indeed!
While it is true that a lot of American Indian nations can trace their DNA back across the land bridge to Siberia and Asia, it is not true of all of them. While it is also true that some American Indian languages (the Athabaskans) are related to the Yeniseian language group of Siberia, once again it is not true of all of them.
By the way, here in this thread I have detected the distinct aroma of either a SNERT or a TROLL. We would all do well to pay attention to the posts before us, and to phrase our responses accordingly.
Mitochondrial analysis has proven that we all come out of Africa. In fact there is a tribe in Africa that looks completely East Asian (facially), with the except of complexion.
As far as "Asians" go, the group that went across the strait to North America is of a completely different sublineage than those who went off to SE asia, Austrialia, and China. So as far as I am concerned, Native Americans and modern day East Asians shared a COMMON ancestry... but Native Americans are NOT DIRECTLY DESCENDED from East Asians. Go trace the lineage on the National genographics site.
especially some of the North American and the Alaskan tribes
I heard they followed the bufalo herds and ended up in north america
Native americans are mongoloid.
