I no longer have cable due to cost. But my iPad allows live stresming of some/all (?) Stanley Cup games if shown on NBC or NBCSN, correct?

Well, once again, I try to get access. It's Rangers-Pens Game 2, prime time Saturday on NBC. But just like my attempts at accessing NBCSN games recently on the iPad, I need to have a subscription to a local cable company. Maddening!

Same happened last week when I tried watching the NCAA hockey final on ESPN. Again, it prompts me for a cable affiliate in order to watch!

So, I imagine any NBC NHL game, reg. season or playoffs, is NOT accessible by simply subscribing to GameCenterLive?

Aarrgghh!!

Anybody else feel the frustration, or one simply must have cable or watch at a bar or friend's house?

Same problem, I guess, for games on USA network this playoffs?

Seems everyone has ditched cable, and just watches online. That's not entirely possible if it's a live show or live game, right?

Yes, I am older and not tech savvy.

Thanks.

Many people hang on to cable as that is the only way to watch many sporting event in your home.
Going to a bar or a friends house is option B when you don't have cable and are not tech savvy.

I've been complaining about this for a while now. It's not just sports. More media companies need to do what HBO is ding now. They're offering up their movies without a cable subscription for a monthly fee.

As far as I know, gamecenter live only airs regular-season games, like MLB.tv only airs regular season baseball. That's cable TV's stranglehold for you.

Cable needs to die yesterday. It's so stone-age.

I just google "ice hockey streams". One of the resulting links has nearly every game.

You can watch them 24-48 hours archived on Gamecenter live. I had the same thing with NBA League pass & the Raptors. I had League Pass subscription, but my cable provider doesn't provide NBA TV, so had to watch those games the next night instead.
