I'm pretty excited to see my all-time favorite player (Steve Yzerman) get inducted into the Hall of Fame along with some other greats I loved to watch over the years. Yzerman turned me into a Wings fan way back in 1984. Prior to that I didn't care for the Dead Things. I always liked Hull and Lucky Luc too and it was awesome to see them raise the cup together in 2002. What do you think about the class of '09?

Yzerman's impact on the Wings franchise pretty much knows no bounds. Classy guy. I think probably the best image was him handing the Cup to Vladimir Konstantinov in a wheelchair in '98. Brian Leetch also had a great impact on the Rangers. Good Class of guys.

Too bad the new wings had to lose that game.

By the way. can any Wings fan tell me why its not a hand pass when Draper wins those draws? You know what I mean. He ties up the opponents stick then reaches down with his hand to tap the puck to a teammate. He's one of the best face-offs in the league. Why don't other players do that?

You'll have to ask the refs why they don't call it.

Back on topic - I liked all of the speeches, except Bettman's (). I've never watched one of these ceremonies before. It was all very moving.

If the puck is in the Wings end it's legal , if the puck is in the other end its called a hand pass and the play is dead . It's only legal in our own end (blue line in) and nowhere else .

That reason occured to me but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the confirmation.
