Looking for a nice size rug to use in a heavy-traffic entryway. Concerned more with eliminating the tracking of dirt than water. Anyone have something similar that they recommend?
We have an "oriental" style rug at both our front entry and in our mud room. Both hide dirt VERY well and they are thick enough to hold dirt, etc. As far as size, that would be best determined by how much room you have. Get the biggest one that fits and looks right.
Sorry, should have been clear that size is not the issue! Am looking for recommendations for a durable rug that will stand up to heavy foot and paw traffic. That clarified, anyone bought/love something similar?
How about a sisal rug? They look great, add texture to the space, and hold up really well. If you are looking for some color, you could always buy one bound with a border in a fabric with color/design.
Do sisals stand up to heavy traffic? Someone else replied that a luxurious bath rug was a simple solution in that it is machine washable.
Not looking for design advice so much as rug suggestions to stand heavy traffic, thanks.
You could check out the wool transitional rugs at Horchow. They come in various designs, colors, sizes and prices. Might find something you like. See Horchow Collection
I have a large entry rug - all wool - thick and beautiful. It is over 2 years old and looks new still yet it gets quite a bit of traffic....from overstock.com...they have some gorgeous rugs and they are rated by customers - I like that.
