You know, I was just expressing my opinion. Baby grand pianos are expensive. And they require maintenance.
Smaller spinets can be had cheaply. People are getting rid of their old pianos, and there aren't as many people who play for fun.
I'd much rather spend big bucks on a top notch stereo system, I think. Not as amazing as the centerpiece of a room, but you can get more enjoyment without taking piano lessons.
(I took lessons as a child and I can say with confidence that I am a lousy pianist.)
