I went to change the oil today today for my Honda Accord 2008 with 63K miles. The guy told me that I should also do a 60K maintenance which cost around $320. I told him not right now since I am in a hurry.
Is there such a thing as 60K maintenance? I could not find anything in the Honda Accord 2008 manual.
You need to look at your Maintenance Minder display to see what maintenance is scheduled. It lists the Main Items and Sub Items. Along with the oil change is a lot of checking other items. Mostly a revenue generator at 60K but since you are about 5 years old you might have some fluids due changing.
As others say, between the owner's manual (I commend you for looking) and then if you have the maintenance minder, you should tell what is due. It might include air filter, cabin air filter. I would generally drain and refill transmission oil at this point too, probably X 3 if not done since new. The generic 60K miles is a money maker, especially since we don't know what the itemized list includes. You have to ask.
It is cheaper to have the list of what you need and have them do it.
Also, if you find a reliable mechanic, might be cheaper and better than the dealer, unless you are under warranty-which I believe you are not. Just make sure they use Honda fluids, esp the transmission, Honda's are quirky that way.
Thanks! The maintenance minder was displaying A which means oil change. I did the oil change today so that is done. The Honda manual does not say anything about 60k service

He's throwing BS at you and trying to get you to pay him a bunch of money for something that isn't necessary. A lot of older cars needed the timing belt replaced at 60,000 miles, but this isn't one of them.
I'm guessing it's a JiffyLube, or some place like that?
Find a different place to take your car for you oil changes.

Bingo! Roger aced it for you. With Hondas, you basically do what MM, aka maintenance minder tells you to. That's it.
Here's link to all MM notifications and what they mean:

What does it involve? Isn't $320 sounds steep?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
The 2006 and onwards Honda Fit and Civics are 100,000 miles no-scheduled maintenance meaning other than fluid and filter changes there is no scheduled maintenance.
I would think the Accord is the same way.
