Does anyone have any experience with the current model year Civic SI or Accord Sport 2.0T? The current lease on my 2017 Civic EX is coming to an end and I'm trying to decide on my next vehicle. As far as Honda's go these are the 2 I'm considering for my next vehicle. I drive 99% by myself so I'm not really worried about space. I drive about 200 miles a week so the good MPG is a plus for both these cars. Honestly I just want something a little more sporty and fun to drive. Since I'm not really worried about size should I stay with the Civic? The MSRP on the SI is quite a bit cheaper than the Accord, ($25,220 vs $31,605). Any input would be great. Thanks!

I have a 17' Civic EX-T, KTuner using 93 octane(night and day difference tuned). I've briefly test drove a Si, and a Accord 1.5 liter touring. Neither were so much better that I was willing to lose money from depreciation. Your situation is different since it's a lease. I wouldn't want 19" wheels, so no Accord sport for me. With the poor roads here, those wheels would have a short life. The Si has stronger rods, 11 vane turbo vs 9 vane I believe, LSD, and a bunch of performance upgrades compared to other Civics(besides Type R). Honestly any 1.5 liter turbo Civic will be fun and more sporty than the 2.0 NA. The 19' EX would give you that, as would the Si.
Si Coupe > Accord 2.0T 6MT > Si Sedan. The Accord 2.0T will be a good bit more powerful than the Si, but it's hard to find with a manual, with is a requirement for me.
Thanks for the input guys. I’m leaning towards the SI. Seems like the Best Buy for the money. I’ve always leaned towards the sedans but now you guys got me thinking about the coupe. I have three kids but they never ride with me all at once (other ride is an 18’ Odyssey EX-L). I’m guessing it would be easier to find a better lease deal on a sedan? None of the dealers in my area have coupes on the lot.

If space is no issue, the Civic SI is an easy choice between these 2. How about the Civic Type R?
I saw a guy on the Civic forums fit his 3 kids in the back of his Si. https://www.civicx.com/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-civic-today-ii.14492/page-580#post-588509

The Type R is an awesome car. Just can justify the price tag for what some of them are going for. Plus id never drive it to its full potential. I think the SI would be a perfect step up from my current EX. Just looking for some stoplight to stoplight fun and hit some twisty backroads. Plus I miss driving a manual.
if I am not mistaken, the Si runs on premium and the 2.0T takes regular. just something to consider if fuel costs are a major concern.
