I was thinking about buying one, but with research on the internet I have been finding a lot of people saying the CVT engine in the HX automatic has serious reliability issues with the transmission. Does anybody here have one or know of this issue?

I dont recall seeing any in the shop for tranny issues, but I can tell you that it was quite possibly the WORST feeling trans (CVT or not) that Ive ever experienced. BLECH.

Yeah those models were suppose to be okay, but it is the models with the CVT engine which was only in the HX trim from 96 and up.

Theoretically, with enough money, anything is possible. I however would not even consider doing this with a Honda given how closely integrated the engine and transmission are mated to each other. Trade it for something else.

Heck no. You'd probably need to change axles, mounts, ECUs, miscellaneous wiring, redo the interior console, and a lot of other things in order to make such a swap possible.

And add a master and slave cylinder, etc, etc. I agree, the swap isnt worth it. Junk the HX and get something else.
