Our puppy is still not fully potty trained. I cannot take the smell anymore. Pulling up the carpet and want to put new floors down.

What's best, tile? Wood? Laminate?

Agreed. I keep my puppies outside a great deal when I'm potty training. When I can watch them like a hawk, I bring them in. If I'm pulling up carpet, I'd put in tile or wood laminate. Be sure and clean up urine and poop immediately.

We have a dog and three cats, no carpet here - all tile and laminate.

Tile, and make sure grout is sealed. Laminate is not a good choice, liquid will get underneath at seams.

Before tearing up the house, have you tried:

Shop Pet Supplies for Dog Cat Care - Nature's Miracle

There is also a new type of flooring out which goes down pretty easily. Go to lowes and take a look at it.

Shop IVC 13.167-ft W Aspin 843 U Wood Low-Gloss Finish Sheet Vinyl at Lowes.com

I wanted to suggest vinyl, also... but let me ask this. Vinyl plank flooring was installed in my office at work. It looks beautiful, and I LOVE IT. However, it's plank flooring, but glued down and not clicked together. The installer told me that because it is glued, moisture will not penetrate between planks. Is that true? That's the only thing holding me back from laying it down when it's time.

Also, if a plank gets ruined, only the plank needs to be replaced, and not a whole section (like laminate planks).
