My toilet wont flush at all unless I pour water while flushing, its a pain in the neck
Now keep in mind this is an old toilet that my father installed in my house since my last one broke.
Alright this is my second bathroom the first one works just fine both are on the first floor,
when ever I flush it seems as if water only flows in although at times when you only go tinkle it does flush but most of the time you have to pour in a considerable amount of water while flushing to get rid of everything (quite a waste of water I must say) It also takes forever to flush about 10 seconds of holding down the handle.
Is this repairable as in low pressure or something loose that I could just fix on my own or should I just invest in a new toilet.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Got buy a toilet repair kit for about $20, that should fix it. Its pretty easy to do if you follow the instructions. It means replacing the flush kit in the tank.

Have you taken the lid off the tank to see what is happening when you push the lever?

Yup.

For some reason, I'm getting that the OP may need to shorten the chain from the handle to the flapper by a couple of links. Way easier than installing a new toilet.
