As per their specification, the builder had the gutter only at the front and part of both the sides.
My home inspector recommended to have the gutter installed in the rest of the house so that the rain water does not damage the foundation. He also mentioned that it should cost $300 or less.
I had a gutter guy give the estimate. The drawing for the gutter is attached as image. He is mentioning that the part of the gutters that were installed in the SIDEs of the house (not at the FRONT) earlier needs to be removed and reinstalled from the aesthetics perspective. From the diagram in his estimate it appears that he wont be installing the gutter in the very back of the house. Moreover, he is giving an estimate for $690.
My Questions:
1. How important are the gutter for the rest of the house from foundation/resale/value perspective.
2. Is removing part of the gutters on both sides make sense?
3. Would it make sense to have the gutter installed in the very back of the house if I am going to have
gutter company reinstalling the gutters in the rest of the side and part of the back of the house
anyway.
4. Would it cost around $690 or would it be $300 or less to have the gutter company and install the
gutters
You're talking about ONE quote-
Get at least two more, then you'll know where you stand.
Most gutter companies have minimum lineal footage- if it's under that the price gets jacked-up.
