I stopped by my Moms today and was surprised to see her HUGE snow pile moved around. She got another 14"s added to the already 4 feet. Her plow guy came by and it was too much so he called out the big guns a large front end loader. The loader really moved the piles but in the process pushed snow into one of her garage doors buckling one of the panels.
Question is what to do?
I told her to call her plow guy tomorrow and tell him about the damage. He is a good guy but I don't know what he can do about this. I think in the end it is going to be an insurance claim.

What do you folks think?

Their insurance should cover the damage.

If its a "legitimate" business and has general liability insurance that should cover the repair/replacement.

If there isn't- she has three choices. He'll admit the damage and pay for the repair out of his pocket, legal action, insurance claim. I put insurance claim last because I'd be surprised if they would actually pay.

Call the plow guy and let him know what happened. The plow/loader folks SHOULD have insurance and that would pay for it. If they don't have insurance, hire someone who does for next year.

My plow guys have damaged our garage too...twice! But since the plow guys are us (I hit a door with the little front end loader, my husband hit the other with the plow truck), we'll be fixing it ourselves . Stuff happens, but your Mom's plow people should be willing to fix it.

I assume you are being sarcastic here. After all, it hasn't even been a week since the mishap.
