Does anybody know how to locate the switch to shut off electricity to the front yard pole? I plan to replace the photocell since the light is always on but first thing is to shut off the electricity to the pole. I tried every circuit breaker in circuit box but nothing works. I even turned off "Main" circuit break but outside yard pole light is still on. I wonder whether there is a circuit breaker to control yard pole light. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Roy
If you turn the Main off, and the light pole is still it, then it's getting power from somewhere else other than your panel if it was wired according to standards.
Is the pole squarely on your property? or is it possible it's a neighbors pole? Do you see any wiring going into the meter socket on the side of the house that looks like it goes into the ground vs into the house toward the panel?
Thanks all for your reply. We don't have HOA and the pole is right in front of my front door. Should I get an electrician check on that or this is something I can do it myself?
Rule of thumb -- IF you have ask the internet you probably are better off...

...calling an electrician!
If this is an older home or one that might have multiple electrical panels MAYBE you can make one last "look around" to try to find the breaker that controls the light, but if not qet a professional involved. They might need to trace the wire, could be fed off an illegal unmetered connection or something incorrectly wired...
I don't know where you live but the one I had was controlled by the electric company. There was a flat monthly fee but they'd change the bulb as needed. Probably a safety thing as not too many people have ladders long enough to reach the light.
When you find out what controls your pole, let us know where you found it.
