I have a Genie Revolution Series SilentMax 1000 garage door opener. It works great, and both the car remote and the wireless keypad function as they should. My question is about the wall control pad, or more specifically, the lack thereof. There is a pair of wires for the wall pad from the motor to just inside the garage door that are wired to the correct terminals on the head unit. Before I spend $30+ for the wall control pad, I want to make sure it will work.
I always assumed that it's simply a momentary contact switch, and that anything (such as a door bell button) would work. However, when I touch the 2 wires together, nothing happens. Is there something magic about the wall pad?
Are the wires on the wall actually connected to the opener?
